Lenovo Opens a Dedicated Classroom at Satbayev University
December 24, Almaty — Lenovo, the global leader in personal computer manufacturing, proudly announces the opening of its dedicated classroom at Satbayev University (Kazakh National Research Technical University). Equipped with cutting-edge digital solutions from Lenovo, this classroom represents the culmination of a strong partnership between the company and the university. It serves as a prime example of how advanced technologies can transform education and drive innovation.
The Lenovo classroom is part of the university's FabLab SU project, a laboratory designed to bring innovative ideas from engineering students and tech startups to life. FabLab SU is part of the global FabLab Massachusetts Institute of Technology network, which connects over 1,500 laboratories worldwide, offering students and researchers access to advanced technologies and opportunities to exchange expertise with peers across the globe.
Located on the second floor of the Kazakhstan-Korea IT Center at Satbayev University, the Lenovo classroom spans approximately 80 square meters and is outfitted with Lenovo’s most advanced solutions, including monitors, laptops, and workstations. These devices deliver exceptional performance for demanding tasks such as 3D modeling, engineering analysis, and AI-based application development.

The Lenovo classroom is divided into several specialized zones, each designed to meet specific needs:
- Workstations Zone: Features ThinkStation desktops and ThinkVision monitors for CAD/CAM/CAE software, AI research, simulation, and prototyping.
- Lecture Area: Equipped with ThinkPad laptops and a large digital display for presentations and educational sessions.
- Collaboration Zone: Includes ergonomic sofas and a round table, ideal for discussions and brainstorming startup projects.
Empowering Education, Research, and Industry
The Lenovo classroom is set to become a key hub for students, researchers, and innovators:
- For students: The classroom provides resources for conducting simulations and gaining hands-on experience with advanced technologies.
- For faculty: Professors can use the space for AI research and teaching.
- For startups: The classroom is available for rent, enabling entrepreneurs to develop prototypes of products intended for industrial applications.
In addition, Lenovo plans to use the space for meetings with clients and partners, hosting presentations, and organizing workshops on advanced technologies, including big data processing and AI research.
